If you find yourself doing more and more instant messaging through Twitter these days, you need TwIM for iPhone.

This free and simple app is powered by Twitter’s direct messages, and it makes it easy to have one-on-one conversations with your followers.

Every Twitter client built for iOS supports direct messages, but when your focus is on a private conversation, you don’t want to be distracted by all the noise in your timeline. TwIM takes all of that away for a simpler messaging experience.

You can use TwIM to search for any user on Twitter, either by their username or their real name. Messages have in-line content previews with support for tweets, photos, videos, GIFs, emojis, maps, webpages, and more. TwIM also offers its own set of emoji characters called TwIMoji.

Other features you would expect from a good Twitter messaging client are also baked in, like the ability to block and unlock users, and the option to accept direct messages from anyone (not just those you are following). There’s lots more, too.

TwIM supports Siri, allowing you to send direct messages using only your voice. You can also respond to messages from within notifications in iOS 10, and there are handy 3D Touch shortcuts to quickly start new conversations or message a recent contact.

Finally, TwIM boasts an iOS share extension that lets you send text, photos, maps, URLs, and more with friends from within other apps.

Perhaps the best thing about TwIM, however, is that it’s completely free. Go download it from the App Store now!
