Catching all the Pokémon in the world is about to get a lot more challenging.

The makers of the popular game Pokémon GO revealed that 80 new creatures will be added this week, along with gender-specific variations and an all-new way to evolve your Pokémon.

Pokémon GO‘s new roster of characters will be added from the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games, bringing favorites like Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile to the iPhone. To find the new monsters you’ll have to go out into the wild and catch them just like before, but the game is adding some new mechanics to training.

Berry good update

In a new blog post detailing the changes, Niantic explains that Pokémon encountered in the wild may react in new ways when you try to catch them. To make make training easier, a new items carousel has been added so you can select berries and poké balls right on the encounter screen.

Berries are getting an updated too with a new variants being added: Nanab Berries and Pinap Berries. Nanab berries can be used to slow down a Pokémon. Pinap Berries double the amount of candy you get when you catch a monster.

Other new additions include an expanded wardrobe with a wider selection of hats, shirts and pants. New avatars will also be added when the update starts rolling out this week.
