Apple’s next iPhone SE refresh could have a higher price tag than the current model. A leak indicates Apple might bump the iPhone SE 4’s price by 10%.

Despite the possible hike, Apple apparently wants to keep the price of its compact iPhone below $499.

Get ready to pay more for next-gen iPhone SE

Apple currently charges $429 for the iPhone SE 3. According to leaker @Revegnus1, the iPhone SE 4 could get a 10% price hike over its predecessor. If accurate, the iPhone SE 4 could set you back by around $470 before any offers and trade-in deals.

Rumors suggest the next-gen iPhone SE could sport an iPhone 14-like design and a bigger 6.1-inch OLED display. Add in the updated internals and other upgrades, and a price hike seems plausible.

A price bump higher than 10% is possible, but the leaker clarifies that Apple won’t increase it beyond $499. This makes sense, as a price tag higher than $499 would make the iPhone SE 4 an unattractive proposition.

Apple could base iPhone SE 4 on the iPhone 14

Leaked iPhone SE 4 CAD renders show the phone will look a lot like the iPhone 14. It might sport a notch at the front, presumably for Face ID components. The renders also show a USB-C port at the bottom and an Action button on the right.

Despite these improvements, the iPhone SE 4 could house a single rear camera. Besides a cost-cutting measure, the move will help Apple differentiate the iPhone SE 4 from the iPhone 14.

Using the same design and components as the iPhone 14 should help Apple save on cost, ensuring the next-gen iPhone SE costs less than $500.

The iPhone SE 4 is reportedly on track for a spring 2025 launch.
