Ever since computers like iMac G3 pulled off the trick, transparent computer gear has come in and out of style. And now transparent keyboards are having a bit of a moment. One good example is the Yunzii X75 Mechanical Keyboard seen in today’s MacBook Pro setup.

Transparent Yunzii X75 Mechanical Keyboard swaps out with Magic Keyboards in setup

Redditor acycmusic (“Cy”) showcased the well-appointed setup in a post entitled “MacBook M2 Pro setup.” Cy’s M2 MacBook Pro drives a 27-inch MCI G27 series display with a monitor light bar on top. The computer sits in clamshell mode on a vertical stand right behind the monitor. She uses a Logitech MX Master 3S wireless mouse and switches between a pair of Magic Keyboards (one’s a mini) and a Yunzii X75 Mechanical Keyboard for typing. The Yunzii keeb is fully transparent to help showcase RGB lighting. Its clear casing recalls such classics as iMac G3 and more recent entrants like Beats Studio Buds+. But for that matter, we’ve also seen everything from clear earbuds to clear power banks.

This gasket-mounted mechanical keyboard adds sandwich silicone sound dampeners to the plate plus a large, fitted bottom silicone pad between the top and bottom cases. This design significantly reduces the gap between the PCBA and bottom case, avoids the noise of the impacted metals, maintains the flexibility of the gasket structure, and improves the overall typing sound, Yunzii said.

Other features:

  • X75 adds a high-quality transparent polycarbonate keyboard top and buttom case to clear key caps and transparent crystal switches. Full transparency makes the RGB lighting more gorgeous, especially in dark conditions.
  •  The keyboard also uses prime PC material to mold the keycaps and print the characters through a digital printing process. The rigorous production ensures the keycaps survive wear-resistant and scratch-resistant tests. The keycap set is designed with an ASA profile for those who feel like sculpt-shaped keys and an ergonomic typing experience, with different heights in different rows.
  • X75 is equipped with hot-swappable PCB to ensure free replacement or change of switches. It is compatible with most 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. Pre-installed the pre-lubed custom switches providing unrivaled tactile responsiveness with up to 50 million keystroke lifespan.
  • You can choose from up to 15 factory-set lights and music-rhythm modes and design new effects with custom software.
