A revving engine drowns out the thunderous sound of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” in the first teaser trailer for F1, Brad Pitt’s upcoming Apple TV+ film about Formula One racing.
You’ll hear precious little dialogue in the trailer, released Sunday by Warner Bros. Pictures. Instead, the promo spot focuses on harrowing racetrack footage shot during actual Grand Prix weekends in collaboration with Formula One teams.
Get ready for a thrilling ride: F1 trailer stars Brad Pitt
Apple negotiated for months to ink a deal for the rights to the potential blockbuster, which is being distributed in theaters by Warner Bros. Pitt plays a driver returning to the dangerous world of racing in the film. However, other plot details remain sketchy at this point.
“F1 stars Brad Pitt as a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid,” Warner Bros. says.
The teaser trailer does offer hints of romance between Pitt and co-star (and Oscar nominee) Kerry Condon. Plus lots and lots of race cars screaming down tracks as their drivers try to overtake one another. The film promises to be visually stunning, especially as it’s being filmed at actual races and is “immersed in the exhilarating and cinematic world of F1,” according to Warner Bros.

Talent in front of and behind the camera
Brad Pitt needs no introduction. He’s a superstar known for Fight Club, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Moneyball and much more. But Pitt is not the only big name here. Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) directs the film, and legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer is involved, too.
F1‘s star-studded cast also includes Oscar winner Javier Bardem, plus Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee Tobias Menzies, Emmy nominee Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.
Coming in 2025
Although the teaser trailer dropped Sunday, F1 won’t reach theaters in North America until June 27, 2025, two days after the international release. The theatrical run — including Imax theaters — will be handled by Warner Bros., as noted. At some point, likely months later, the film will reach the Apple TV+ streaming service.
This isn’t the first time Brad Pitt has worked with Apple. He and George Clooney pair up in the action-comedy movie Wolfs, which will premiere in theaters in September before reaching Apple TV+ subscribers.
