Apple doesn’t reveal too many numbers about Apple TV+, which can make it difficult to gauge which shows are the streaming service’s biggest hits.
Most of the time, the best you can do is use anecdotal evidence, such as what people are talking about on Twitter, or extrapolate the number of Rotten Tomatoes reviews to get a sense of which shows are the getting the most attention.
However, Reelgood, which describes itself as the “most extensive movie and TV streaming search engine with more than 2 million monthly active users in the United States,” thinks it’s going a more accurate idea. It’s produced a chart showing date about Apple TV+’s top-performing TV shows for the past three months. Check it out.

Apple’s biggest TV+ hits so far
According to Reelgood — which provides analytics across the streaming video market — Apple’s biggest hit over the third quarter of 2020 is comedy series Ted Lasso. Ted Lasso stars Jason Sudeikis as an unwitting, buffoonish football coach who heads to the UK to take a job heading up a soccer team. You can check out Cult of Mac‘s review here.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard the show is a hit for Apple. Soon after its debut, Deadline reported that Ted Lasso was “ranking as the top program on Apple TV+ in countries including the U.S., UK, Australia, Germany, Mexico, France and Canada.” Apple has already signed up for a second season. It’s certainly an impressive showing for Ted — especially considering that it debuted August 14, halfway through Q3.
Reelgood says that Ted Lasso received 18 percent of all clicks on Apple TV+ in Q3. Meanwhile, The Morning Show (15.8 percent of streams) was in second place, while Defending Jacob was in third place with 10.4 percent.
The report doesn’t reveal exactly how many views Apple TV+ received in total. Still, if this is accurate it gives a sense of what Apple’s biggest TV hits have been so far.
