Hey what's up guys, Steve from Cult of Mac here and today we're announcing a brand new
0:04
monthly series called iSetups where we want you to get involved. Each month we're going to take a look at some of the best Mac setups around the world to
0:11
help find inspiration, give tips and suggestions and hopefully be amazed by some of the best
0:16
Apple setups around the world. If you'd like to submit your setup, stick around to the end of the video where I'll
0:21
tell you how to get involved. But I thought it was only fair to give you a tour of my current setup
0:35
So welcome to my current Mac setup. It's still a work in progress, there's still a lot I want to do as I've only been in this
0:40
office for around 2 months now. Let's start with the main event, my 2013 Mac Pro which has a 2.7GHz E5 processor with 12GB
0:49
of RAM and a 256GB SSD. I got this second hand at a great price but I'm planning to max out the RAM in the near
0:56
future until Apple finally release a new Mac Pro. The monitor I'm using is the LG 27UD88
1:02
It's a 4K monitor which I absolutely love. I'm not going to go into too much detail as I've done a full review of it which I'll leave
1:08
a link to in the description down below. For my mouse and keyboard I'm using the standard Magic Mouse and Keyboard as I love being able
1:14
to swipe along my timelines whilst editing. To the right of my Mac Pro is a 50 inch 4K Polaroid TV which will be mounted onto the
1:20
wall as soon as I've purchased a second LG monitor. But for now it lives on my desk for the extra real estate I need whilst editing
1:27
It's a brilliant TV for a ridiculously low price. Usually living on my desk is my early 2015 entry spec Macbook Pro with Retina display
1:35
I rarely edit video on my Macbook Pro unless I'm travelling about but it handles my videos
1:39
no problem and I mainly use it for writing my scripts, blog posts and any graphic design
1:44
for the site. It's all sitting on this custom desk which is big enough for 2-3 screens and my Macbook
1:49
Pro all at once. Behind the monitor I have a LIFX bulb just to illuminate the wall and to add a bit of
1:55
depth to the videos. For my voiceovers like this one I'm using the Rode NT USB microphone which is an absolute
2:01
steal for $169 delivering stellar recording quality in a small package. For my current phone I've still got the 128GB iPhone 7 in black which of course I'm still
2:11
in love with. Well there's my iSetup but if you'd like the NTRs to be featured there's two ways you
2:18
can do it. Firstly you can send us a video between 60 and 90 seconds in length giving us a tour
2:22
of your Mac setup including any main computers, additional workhorses or any other Apple gadgets
2:27
you'd like to talk about. Especially if you've got any vintage Apple products I'd love to see them
2:32
The second way is if you're not comfortable with making a video you can send images in with a brief description on each item that you're featuring
2:37
There's a full write up in the description down below of how to enter. Well that's it for this video but let me know in the comments down below what you'd like
2:44
this series to be. Any ideas or suggestions would be great as I'd love to make this a monthly show that
2:48
you all want to be a part of. Until next time, hit that like button if you're excited for this series and if you haven't
2:54
already go ahead and hit that subscribe button so you don't miss a single video from Cult
2:57
of Mac. I'll catch you in the next one
