macOS Sonoma New Desktop Feature

If you've upgraded, you know that

well, you probably know that if you click on your desktop, anywhere on your desktop in macOS Sonoma

all is revealed. It just, your desktop is displayed, all the windows go away, get minimized, whatever

You click back on the desktop, they come back. I love it. There are other ways to do this

you know, using Hot Corners and various things. That's always how I've done it is Hot Corners

Hot Corners is one of those things that I've known about forever and I've set them up and I just, I never, I always fail to use them

I think this is a pretty great feature. I mean, apparently some people are in a twist about it

They don't like it. I love the fact that I can just, anytime just click my desktop and see everything there

which now includes not just all the, you know, smart stacks and stuff like that

but widgets that you can put up there in macOS Sonoma, which is pretty awesome

I think it's a, I think this is a very clever way to do it. And when I, I think we were talking about it

on the podcast last week, I had never heard of it before. It's like, wow, that is actually really cool

Really simple, very smart. Why do they do this forever? Anyway, some people don't like it

So if you, if you're being driven crazy by this amazing new feature

which is I believe technically called quote, click wallpaper to reveal desktop

What a name. Is that what it's called? That truly is terrible. Wow

Fairly, fairly straightforward name for the feature. If you want to turn it off

it's not exactly straightforward, but it's not that hard. You go to system settings in the left sidebar

click desktop and dock, under the desktop and stage manager section, change the click wallpaper to reveal desktop dropdown

from always to only in stage manager. And I think that's the reason that this how-to

makes a lot of sense because it's not that obvious. None of the wording of that in there

makes all that much sense to me. But if that's how you do it, if you, you know, weren't

This is just the latest one. And again, I encourage you not to disable

the coolest new feature in macOS and OMA, but if you're driven crazy by it, that's how you do it
