Lost your water bottle again? Journey Reevus Insulated Stainless Steel Bottle could fix that, permanently — if you’re willing to pay for it. It’s pricey because it’s not just another insulated stainless steel bottle, but the first one that integrates with Apple Find My tracking and functions as a MagSafe iPhone stand. So at $90 (or $76.50 with launch discount), it’s kind crazy steep. But this Reevus smart bottle review finds it might actually be worth it, especially if you’re one of those people who carries around water bottles all the time and tends to lose them.
Reevus smart bottle review
Journey Reevus, which came out March 25, stands out as a premium insulated bottle for hot or cold beverages that combines sophisticated design with technology. Its sleek profile and thoughtful features elevate it over basic water bottles, making it a tempting prospect in a crowded market. It’s not cheap, but if you use it daily and can’t lose it thanks to Find My, you might find the investment worthwhile. Come to think of it, you could walk around with this one beverage bottle for the rest of your life.

Design and build quality

Reevus boasts robust stainless steel construction with a double-walled vacuum-insulated interior that retains temperature. It features a soft-touch matte finish that enhances grip and adds a premium feel to the overall design. And its carry ring flips up from the cap, so you can use it to hold the bottle or mount an iPhone. And inside the cap sits a removable magnetic puck with Find My inside.
The bottle’s leak-proof design ensures worry-free carrying in any situation. Its construction is both BPA-free and dishwasher safe. And the exterior coating to hold onto during everyday use, while durable build mean it will last a long time even with regular use.
It lacks two features, however. One, a way to drink through the cap rather than removing it entirely (like a pill-shaped opening with its own sliding cover or cap, like on a travel mug). And two, a way to keep the unscrewed cap attached to the bottle so you don’t have to hold it or set it down when you take it off the bottle.
Capacity and dimensions
Journey Reevus offers a 700ml (23.67 fl oz) capacity, more or less a sweet spot between portability and adequate hydration. The bottle stands 80mm (3.15in) in diameter by 205.3mm (8.08in) in height, making it comfortable to hold, empty or full.
And despite its technology integration, the bottle remains lightweight at just 395 grams (13.92 ounces). The bottle’s proportions fit standard cup holders and bag pockets without awkward protrusions. I can stick it in my car’s cup holder on my way to the gym, where it fits in most cup holders on equipment like treadmills. But when I went to see if it fit in the cup holder on my relatively new bike, I saw that it doesn’t have one yet. It’s one of those items I forgot to get around to installing before I put the bike in storage for the winter.
Double-walled vacuum insulation
Reevus’ double-walled vacuum-insulated interior keeps drinks cold or hot quite well. My water stayed cool for hours and my coffee stayed pretty hot for longer than usual — which is great, because I’m always nuking luke-warm cups of coffee. Journey says the bottle keeps cold drinks chilled for up to 24 hours and hot beverages warm for 12 hours. That’s on par with premium thermal bottles.
The insulation works regardless of external conditions, making the bottle effective during summer hikes or winter commutes. Beyond temperature retention, the bottle’s construction helps prevent condensation on the exterior. So that elminates the annoyance of water rings on my tables or dampness in my bag.
Find My integration

The big-deal feature of Reevus is its seamless integration with Apple’s Find My network. It paired easily and connected directly to my iPhone’s Find My app. Once connected, I found I could:
- Track my bottle’s live location on the Find My app map.
- Receive alerts when I leave my bottle behind.
- Trigger a 100dB ringtone through the bottle’s built-in speaker.
- Maintain connection up to 20 meters (66 feet) via Bluetooth.
The Find My functionality works just like other Apple tracking accessories, using the extensive Find My network. That means even when my bottle sits outside Bluetooth range, other Apple devices passing nearby can anonymously help locate it.
The tracking functionality proved dependable in various scenarios. It doesn’t matter if the bottle is empty or full. Within Bluetooth range (20 meters/66 feet), the connection remained stable and responsive. When I activated the sound feature, the 100dB ringtone sounded off at the gym, making bottle location easy. And when I intentionally left Reevus behind for testing purposes, a separation alert showed up promptly on my iPhone 16 Pro.
Detachable tracker puck
The Find My technology is housed in a clever detachable puck that attaches magnetically to the bottle’s lid. Designed to withstand the rigors of daily use, the puck resists dust and water. Its rechargeable battery runs for an impressive 120 days between charges, according to Journey.
When the battery eventually runs low, simply detach the puck and place it on any Qi wireless charger. And another cool thing about the tracker? I can easily pop it out of the Reevus top and use it with other items, like a suitcase, whenever necessary. It’s a lot bigger than an AirTag, but it could come in handy.
MagSafe iPhone stand functionality

Completing the feature set is the flip-up carry ring that doubles as a MagSafe-compatible iPhone stand. This versatile component comes equipped with powerful magnets that securely hold my phone in place. The ring’s 90-degree hinge lets me adjust viewing angles.
The phone mount works natively with iPhone 12 and newer models. But Journey thoughtfully included a universal compatibility ring in the box that enables older iPhones and Android devices to use the functionality. This magnetic stand proves especially useful for hands-free content viewing, video calls or as a camera tripod for capturing moments during outdoor activities. I could see using it on hikes this spring.
Battery life and charging
The tracker puck’s battery performance stands out as a plus. Once fully charged, it powers the Find My functionality for up to 120 days, meaning you’ll only need to recharge it three or four times a year. A complete charge takes about one hour.
Charging the tracker puck is straightforward — simply detach it from the bottle lid with a light push and place it on any standard wireless charger. This convenience eliminates the need for proprietary cables or adapters.

Who should buy it?

Journey Reevus makes perfect sense for iPhone users who frequently misplace their water bottles. Content creators will benefit from the built-in phone stand functionality that doubles as a camera accessory (with no adjustability, however). Active individuals who value both premium insulation and tracking capabilities might find the combination justifies the daunting cost.
Certainly, those looking to minimize their everyday carry will appreciate how this single product replaces multiple accessories. Environmentally conscious consumers committed to reusable bottles will value the durability and tracking that ensures they never lose their sustainable choice.

Journey Reevus smart water bottle stands out as a thoughtful solution for anyone tired of misplacing water bottles. While its $89.99 price tag might seem steep, the combination of premium insulation, Find My tracking and MagSafe functionality effectively delivers three products in one. In essence, Reevus isn’t competing with standard bottles but positioning itself as a smart lifestyle accessory for the Apple ecosystem. And if you use it daily and can never lose it, you might find it worthwhile (even if others find it laughable and call you crazy for spending $90 on a water bottle).
Journey offers Reevus in three color options: black, white and gray. It costs $89.99. Early adopters benefit from a 15% launch discount, bringing the price down to $76.50 during the pre-order period.
