Picking up an iPhone Duo? Apple’s first foldable is also its most expensive iPhone, and probably its most delicate yet. The iPhone Duo has more to protect than any iPhone before it. It comes in two halves: an outer display and an inner display and a hinge that has to move freely without obstruction.
Unlike regular iPhones, the cases for the iPhone Duo are also special. To help you choose, we rounded up the best iPhone Duo cases from popular case makers, along with the standout options from each.
Best iPhone Duo cases
The iPhone Duo‘s foldable form factor makes case shopping for it a little different. Most of its cases will come in two pieces, leaving a gap in the middle for the hinge. Others may wrap the hinge to provide even more protection.
Thankfully, being an iPhone, plenty of accessory makers already have Duo cases ready for sale. Plus, more will hit the market as preorders ship. Most of them support MagSafe, so your chargers, wallets, and mounts will keep working. You only need to decide how much of your phone you want to cover.
Before buying a case for your iPhone Duo, check two things. First, whether the case protects the hinge or leaves it exposed. Second, whether it plays nicely with an inner screen protector if you plan to use one. A case that presses against the edge of the inner display can lift a protector over time.

ESR: Duo cases with a flip-out stand that doubles as a lens cover

ESR brings over its clever flex stand from the iPhone 18 Pro cases to the iPhone Duo. The stand rotates and folds through 180°, so you can prop the Duo up whether it is closed or fully open. Fold the stand shut and it neatly integrates into the camera bump.
The lineup includes a Slim Classic Hybrid Case without a stand, a Classic Hybrid with Flex Stand, a rugged Cyber Tough model and the Vegan Leather Atelier. All of them support MagSafe, with ESR designing them to sit flush with the inner and outer screen protectors so they don’t push against the edges.
ESR's clear hybrid case for iPhone Duo will show off its sleek finish while adding a stand for hands-free viewing, folded or unfolded. Built-in magnets work with MagSafe chargers and accessories, with a protective coating helping slow the yellowing that affects most clear cases.

Pitaka: Aramid fiber that barely adds any bulk

Photo: Pitaka
If you got the iPhone Duo for its slim foldable design, Pitaka’s sweet case is the one that will keep it that way. Made from aerospace-grade aramid fiber, the same one the company uses for its iPhone 18 Pro cases, it is roughly 1.2 mm thick. The woven texture looks great and gives a bit of extra grip on a phone that’s slippery when open.
The cases cover both halves of the Duo, leaving the hinge exposed. It’s a trade-off you’ll have to accept if you want that slim profile. Pitaka’s cases for iPhone Duo support MagSafe and come in several finishes, including patterned Moonrise, Sunset, and California Dream.
OtterBox: A hinge guard that moves with the phone
OtterBox offers two very different iPhone Duo cases. The Lumen Series is a thin, two-piece case with raised edges around the screen and cameras. It’s the one to get if you want everyday scratch and drop protection without hiding the phone’s design.
The Defender Series Pro XT is the opposite. It adds a rugged hinge guard that moves smoothly as the Duo opens and closes, port covers to keep out dust and grippy edges. It’s bulkier, but it’s the most protective option here, and it still works with MagSafe.
The Lumen Series uses a two-piece design that protects both halves of the iPhone Duo. Raised edges protect the screen and cameras, with built-in magnets for MagSafe. It comes in Black Mist, Tortoise and Clear.
OtterBox’s Defender Series Pro XT protects your iPhone Duo with a rugged hinge cover that moves with the phone and lies flat when open. Grippy edges should help provide a secure hold, while port covers will block dust and dirt.
Burton Goods: American full-grain leather with a magnetic hinge

Burton Goods, founded by the team behind Pad & Quill, makes two leather cases for the iPhone Duo. The Heritage uses American full-grain leather and covers the back and the hinge area. The leather hinge uses rare-earth magnets to pull the Duo shut.
The Pocket Book is two cases in one: a full-grain folio wallet that holds four to six cards, plus a detachable leather back case that works with MagSafe on its own.
Both include an optional polycarbonate front frame, offer laser engraving and come in Mahogany, Deep Amber and Onyx Black.
Burton Goods’ Heritage Leather Case wraps your iPhone Duo’s back and hinge in American full-grain leather that develops a natural patina with use. A soft microfiber lining cushions the phone, while magnets in the leather hinge keep the case closed when folded. It also comes with an optional polycarbonate front frame for added protection.

Casetify: When you want your foldable to stand out

Casetify is offering its popular Impact Case for the iPhone Duo. It comes in dozens of prints, from Dark Cherry Jelly to Classic Dottie, with a glossy MagSafe-compatible finish.
It also includes a hinge cover that Casetify says glides with the phone as it opens and closes.

Sandmarc: A leather case built for iPhone photographers

The iPhone Duo does not stand out for its cameras. But if you are a photographer, consider Sandmarc’s Pro Leather Case. It features a patented aluminum lens mount, letting you attach Sandmarc’s add-on lenses and filters. This includes a 2x telephoto lens that the company recommends for the Duo.
The full-grain leather exterior comes in brown or black, with a microfiber lining, metal buttons and built-in magnets for MagSafe charging. Sandmarc also includes an optional hard-shell front guard that snaps into place, with adhesive available for a firmer hold.
Sandmarc’s Pro Leather Case pairs brown full-grain leather with an aluminum camera mount that accepts the company’s lenses and filters. A microfiber lining and metal buttons complement the leather exterior, while built-in magnets support MagSafe charging. An included optional front guard adds screen protection, although the case leaves the hinge exposed.
Apple: The official iPhone Duo Case
Apple’s own iPhone Duo Case is a thin, two-part case that wraps both halves of the phone. Built-in magnets line up perfectly with the Duo’s MagSafe array, so attaching chargers and accessories feels exactly like it does without a case.
It’s not the most protective or the most interesting option here, but it’s the safest bet for fit. That is if you can look past the steep price.
Apple’s official iPhone Duo Case features a two-piece design to help protect the foldable from drops and scratches. The polycarbonate shell has a matte finish, with a navy blue color that complements the Duo.
Benks: A full Kevlar protection kit in one box
Benks’ ArmorGrid Air Grand Combo bundles a Kevlar aramid fiber back case, a matching front frame and a GlassWarrior HD tempered glass screen protector. It’s a great option if you want a slim case with protection for the outer display included.
The woven finish adds texture for grip, while a raised aluminum camera surround helps keep the lenses away from surfaces.

Spigen: Hinge protection on every case, at almost every budget
Spigen has one of the biggest iPhone Duo lineups, and every case in it covers the hinge. Options run from the thin Air Fit Pro and the soft-touch Nano Pop to the rugged Tough Armor Pro. The MagFit versions add built-in magnets, so your MagSafe chargers and accessories work without any extra steps.
The two worth looking at first are the Ultra Hybrid Pro MagFit and the Slim Armor Pro S MagFit. The Ultra Hybrid Pro is clear, so it shows off the Duo’s finish. The Slim Armor Pro S adds a kickstand that rotates 360 degrees, so you can prop the phone up in portrait or landscape.
Spigen’s clear Ultra Hybrid Pro lets your iPhone Duo’s color show through while covering the hinge and the camera plateau. Air Cushion corners absorb drops, and built-in magnets work with MagSafe. It comes in Clear White and Frost Black.
Spigen’s Slim Armor Pro S MagFit combines a spring-loaded hinge cover with a 360-degree rotating aluminum kickstand for portrait or landscape viewing. Its SecuLink design connects the front and rear panels with steel pins to help keep them secure as you fold the phone.

In light of recent articles telling of some cases requiring adhesive, I find it uninformative that you don’t comment on this at all in your article.
Think of all the effort Apple went to, shaving every millimetre they could to make this phone thinner. Only to put in in some honking thick case. Im going caseless.
