Your AI chatbot desperately needs a fact-checker like this one

Caveat isn’t another chatbot competing for your attention: It’s a browser extension designed to examine responses from the AI platforms you already use. Think of it as a fact-checker for AI chatbots, which are notorious for their ability to authoritatively fluff the facts.

Caveat reviews answers from popular AI models ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. And a lifetime subscription costs less than $60 right now.

Caveat, an AI fact-checker that spots hallucinations

ChatGPT and its ilk can write a convincing answer in seconds. The problem? A confident response from your AI chatbot of choice isn’t necessarily a correct one. Caveat gives you a second layer of review before you put an AI-generated answer to work.

The process is straightforward. When you encounter an answer worth double-checking, select “Challenge this answer” to generate a critical review. Caveat provides an overall assessment, a quick takeaway and key findings that explain where an answer may need closer examination. The AI fact-checker can also highlight a primary caveat and identify specific claims worth verifying.

For more complicated AI queries, additional analysis examines assumptions, missing context and counterarguments that could change how you interpret the original response.

That proves particularly useful when AI is helping with research, technical questions, business decisions or unfamiliar subjects. Instead of accepting the first explanation, you can examine where the chatbot’s reasoning might be incomplete.

Review the AI responses that really matter

Caveat’s Standard Plan includes 20 critical reviews per month, with support for responses containing up to 10,000 characters each.

That allowance makes Caveat a practical tool for selectively reviewing important answers rather than automatically checking every chatbot conversation. Additional reviews are available for separate purchase when needed.

Because the fact-checker works directly within supported AI platforms, there’s no need to copy responses into another standalone chatbot. Caveat works through Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. (Unfortunately, Apple’s Safari browser isn’t supported.)

The lifetime license is tied to one Caveat account, and software updates are included. Both new and existing users are eligible, although you’ll need to redeem your code within 30 days of purchase (and codes cannot be stacked).

Of course, even a second AI assessment isn’t a guarantee of accuracy. Important information might still require checking against reliable original sources.

Save on Caveat AI fact-checker to double-check your chatbot’s results

For anyone who regularly relies on AI-generated information, Caveat adds a useful checkpoint between receiving an answer and acting on it.

Get lifetime access to Caveat’s Standard Plan for just $59.99 (MSRP $179).
