A beta version of Apple’s newly launched iWork Intelligent Assistant is now live in Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, after the apps briefly vanished from the App Store.
The tool goes way beyond the AI features Apple brought to its apps back in January, but only Apple Creator Studio subscribers can access it.
iWork Intelligent Assistant handles drafting, formulas, and slides
Apple’s iWork is a collection of productivity apps that includes Pages for word processing and page layout, Keynote for creating presentations and Numbers for spreadsheets. Although the apps are free, some newer AI-powered features require an Apple Creator Studio subscription —that now includes the iWork Intelligent Assistant.
Apple’s release notes describe an AI assistant that can understand the document you’re working on.
In Pages, it can start a draft, adjust your tone and even generate images and shapes. The assistant can also search for up-to-date information and then add it to the document.
Keynote gets help building slides, writing presenter notes and adding animations. Numbers can suggest charts, build formulas and generate tables. These three apps also walk users through these new features.
Apple’s iWork Intelligent Assistant seems to be taking on Gemini in Google Workspace. According to release notes, the feature is currently in beta and requires iOS 27 or later.
Apple pulled Pages, Keynote, and Numbers shortly after release
Apple updated the apps on Thursday. Shortly after, all three apps briefly disappeared from the iOS and Mac App Stores. It’s still unclear whether the removal was intentional or a bug.
The Mac versions returned first without the new update. Hours later, the update came back with the assistant included.
Creator Studio costs $12.99 a month
Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are free, but the assistant sits behind Apple Creator Studio. It costs $12.99 per month or $129 per year, with new subscribers getting a one-month free trial.
The subscription also bundles Final Cut Pro, Logic Proand Pixelmator Pro. As for the update, it adds some new templates and curated videos to the Content Hub for subscribers. Also, all three apps now support iPhone Duo.
If you are subscribed and can’t find the assistant, update your apps and check the iOS 27 requirement.
