Plugable Technologies on Tuesday launched the USBC-10IN1E, a new 10-in-1 USB-C hub aimed at delivering docking station-level performance in a compact design. The company says the device stands out in a crowded market by combining high-wattage charging, advanced display support and faster networking in a single accessory.

Despite the advanced features, the new product is quite affordable — which is not surprising for Plugable.

Multiport hubs have become an essential accessory for MacBook users because they address the growing gap between Apple’s minimalist port designs and real-world connectivity needs. While recent MacBook models rely heavily on a small number of USB-C or Thunderbolt ports, many users still depend on a wider range of connections, including HDMI for external displays, USB-A for legacy devices, SD card slots for cameras, and Ethernet for stable networking.

The Plugable USBC-10IN1E features native HDMI 2.1 output, enabling resolutions up to 8K at 30Hz or 4K at 144Hz without requiring additional drivers. This helps ensure smoother video performance and lower latency.

It also supports up to 140W USB-C power input and can deliver up to 125W to a connected MacBook, allowing full-speed charging for power-hungry systems.

Beyond display and power capabilities, the hub includes a 2.5Gb Ethernet port for faster wired networking, along with SD and microSD card readers. Additional connectivity options include two USB-C ports with 10Gbps transfer speeds and three USB-A ports, one supporting 10Gbps and BC 1.2 charging, and two offering 5Gbps speeds.

“USB-C hubs usually come with tradeoffs”, said Lynn Smurthwaite-Murphy, CEO of Plugable. “It’s a compromise between power, display quality, and performance.” With the USBC-10IN1E, we wanted to eliminate those tradeoffs. This hub delivers performance you’d expect from a docking station in a size that fits in your bag. We built it for how people actually work today.”
