Hey, what's up guys, Stephen Colt of Mac here and by now most of you have probably
0:06
tried out iOS 10, Apple's latest mobile operating system for the iPhone and iPad
0:11
But while iOS 10 isn't such a radical design as say, iOS 7 was, it's got a lot of under
0:17
the surface improvements that we're really liking. With that said, here's our guide to the 10 iOS 10 features you may not have discovered yet
0:24
So let's get started. Apple Maps recently celebrated its 4th birthday and to mark the occasion it got some big upgrades
0:35
for iOS 10. One of these is the Find My Car feature which allows Siri to automatically work out when
0:41
you're driving and then drop a pin at whichever location you stop
0:45
So you can easily follow it back to your car parking space later on
0:49
You can also get Maps to now choose a route that lets you avoid toll roads for a cheaper journey
0:54
Sure, Google Maps has had this feature for a while now but this is a welcome addition
0:57
to Apple Maps. Jumping from Maps to Music, Apple Music now lets you automatically make space in your
1:04
device by removing songs you haven't listened to for a while. You can access this optimised storage feature by heading to Settings, then Music, then Downloads
1:12
Of course, you can always download the songs again if you find yourself missing them
1:18
From saving space to saving data. If you go to Settings, Messages, Enable Low Quality Image Mode, you'll now only load
1:25
images online at a lower resolution to save your monthly data allowance
1:29
It's a great feature that a lot of people may not notice, but it can make a big difference
1:33
if you're not on an unlimited plan. Talking of hidden features, you can now also hide those Apple stock apps you never use
1:40
This can be done in the same way you delete any other app. Although they're not really gone from your phone, you can bring them back using the settings
1:46
menu if you suddenly feel the need for a compass app for example
1:50
Of course, one app you probably do use is the camera. This isn't a big upgrade, but it's a useful one
1:56
In iOS 10, opening up the camera app won't immediately stop your music from playing
2:00
Unless you're recording a live photo or shooting a video that is
2:04
Another app you likely rely on is your iOS device's clock. Open up an iOS 10 and check out the new Bedtime Reminder, which now lets you make a note of
2:12
the times you sleep and get reminders and sleep tracking details in the health app
2:17
Talking of notifications, if you're using an iPhone 6s or newer, you can now clear all
2:22
of your notifications by doing one harder press on the X at the top of your notifications
2:26
list and you'll bring up a clear all option. Pretty neat. From newer features like 3D touch to returning to how things were done before, if you're
2:35
one of the people still getting used to the way iOS 10 users have to physically press their home button to unlock their phone, don't worry
2:41
If you want to return to the old way of using touch ID, just go to settings, general, accessibility
2:46
and then home button and enable rest finger to open. Hey presto, you're back to the glory days of 2015 when the world was a less confusing place
2:55
Have you checked out the new image search feature? Well, when you're writing a message, just hit the app store icon, then tap the images
3:02
button and you can search for anything you need to illustrate your message
3:07
Well that's it for this video but let me know in the comments section down below if you've found any hidden features in iOS 10
3:13
