What's going on everybody, Ian here for Cult of Mac, and did you know that on the Apple
0:08
Watch you can actually customize the workout app to both show the types of workouts that
0:13
you most regularly do, or more importantly, not show the things that you don't care so
0:17
much about, and also customize the entire interface of the workout app itself when you're
0:21
working out to see those metrics and those important pieces of information that you want
0:25
to see. Check it out. So the first part of this is in customizing the workouts that show up on the watch itself
0:31
To do this, you're basically going to pull up the workout app and just swipe from right to left on any workouts that you don't do with any regularity
0:38
And this means you can also get rid of things like the time to walk or time to run options
0:41
which kind of get in the way of all the other workouts you might do. On top of that, if you scroll all the way to the bottom of that list, there's an option
0:47
to add a workout type. So there's a workout type that you do frequently that doesn't show up in the list by default
0:53
You can actually just add it to that list, and then as you use it, it will come closer to the top, depending on how often you use that workout type
0:59
The second part of this is in customizing what displays while you're working out. And to do this, you're actually going to open up the watch app on your iPhone
1:06
From there, you're going to scroll down to the workout section, and then within workouts
1:10
you're going to choose workout view and the type of workout that you're planning on using
1:16
this for, that you want to customize this for. Now, within one of those workout types, you can simply hit edit, and you can drag things
1:22
out or onto the display, depending on what it is that you want to see on the app
1:26
As you're doing that type of workout. And the cool thing about this is you can really customize that for whatever metrics are most
1:31
important to you. So if you want to know about your current pace or your current distance, those are things
1:35
you can add, while something like the steps per minute might not be as important on your run
1:40
So those are the two big tips on using the workout app on your Apple Watch, things that make it really cool, and things that people might not know
1:45
